Whether traversing the forested hills of St. John's or taking a full-day stroll along Newfoundland 's scenic coastline, St. John's offers an incredible array of trails suited for all comers. At Aurora Adventures we are proud to offer a diverse selection of interpretive hikes suited for the beginner or the seasoned hiker.

River Walk Rennies River (Easy)

Take an interpretive nature tour along one of St.John's premier walking trails. Beginning in Pippy Park in the north-end of St. John's , Rennie's River meanders its way through the city before emptying its waters into the mighty North Atlantic . Along the way visit unique natural and historical landmarks that sure to take your breath away.

Historic Signal Hill (Moderate)

The Signal Hill trail begins near the St. John's Harbour and takes you through an historic settlement known as the Outer Battery that has been a military outpost for hundreds of years before doubling as a fishing outpost. The history is evident everywhere you walk as you make your way along the trail before venturing into spectacular coastline and eventually up Signal Hill to famous Cabot Tower.

Coastal Walk Freshwater Bay (Full Day)

Beginning near the most easterly point in North America - Cape Spear , this full-day venture will take you through breath-taking scenery that offers the hiker a real taste of Newfoundland Topography. Towering cliffs overlooking incredible ocean viewing, lush forested hills containing our native wildlife and running streams will awaken your spirit as only Newfoundland can do. A shore lunch is provided.
